Course Description


The TSS is designed to be administered over an

eight-hour period. Since the program employs
highly interactive methods, the amount of time to
be devoted to each specific subject will vary
somewhat depending upon the composition of the
class. However, the following general allocation of
time is suggested:    
        
MODULE #1: PROBLEM RECOGNITION (120 MINUTES)
Section 1 (Getting Aquainted)
• Introduction (10 min)
• Why the Course (10 min)
• Course Responsibilities (10 min)
• Testimonials (30 min)
Section 2 (Nature of The Problem)
• Collision Statistics (5 min)
• Relation of Violations to Collisions (15 min)
• Consequences of Additional Violations (10 min)
• License Suspension (25 min)

 

MODULE #2: SPEEDING (120 MINUTES)
Section 1 (Being in a Hurry)
• Reasons for Speeding (20 min)
• Speed and Visibilty (20 min)
• Speed and Road Conditions (20 min)
Section 2 (Avoid Being in a Hurry)
• Speed and Traffic (20 min)
• Disregarding Traffic Signals / Stop Signs (20 min)
• How to Avoid Being in a Hurry (15 min)

 

MODULE #3: INATTENTION; AGRESSIVE DRIVING (120 MINUTES)
Section 1 (Being Attentive)
• The Path Ahead (15 min)
• Seeing to the Sides (15 min)
• Slowing Unexpectedly / Blind Spots (10 min)
• Too Much Attention to the Wrong Things (5 min)
Section 2 (Being Aggressive)
• Following Too Closly (20 min)
• Passing / No Passing (20 min)
• Failure to Yield (15 min)

 

MODULE #4: SPECIAL PROBLEMS (120 MINUTES)
Section 1 (Failure to Signal; DUI)
• Failure to Signal Properly ( 30 min)
• Driving Under the Influence (30 min)
Section 2 (Strategy)
• Discuss Practical Strategies (50 min)
• Course Summary (5 min)
